If you’re a fan of light and airy decor with beachy colors then coastal design may be for you. These coastal living rooms are all inspired by the ocean, yet there are many different styles even within the guidelines of “coastal.”
For example, you can go for the straight-edge, clean cut preppy coastal style that we often see here in New England, or you can instead opt for warmer tones and Caribbean colors to show more of a Key West coastal style.
Regardless, any style of coastal decor will emphasize natural light and white/neutral colors. Your accent colors will most likely be in the green/blue hues, though you can check out the different photos below to see how designers pull coastal living room decor together.
Where To Shop For Coastal Decor:
Many different stores have great coastal pieces. I personally love to shop at boutique outlets in just about any beach town. Up here, we go to Cape Cod for coastal decor, but we’ve also checked out places all through Florida and in California.
Some of my favorite online shops for coastal decor include:
Target: If you’re looking for budget coastal/nautical decor then Target is your best bet. You can find everything from coastal furniture, like kitchen islands and TV stands, to accents such as throw pillows or vases.
Birch Lane: You’ll find rustic, coastal decor at Birch Lane. These pieces are perfect if you want your home to feel cozy and beachy.
Serena & Lily: If you’re willing to spend a bit more, check out Serena & Lily. The store is literally dedicated to high end, chic coastal decor. It’s very modern and clean but gives all the beachy feels.
Etsy: I really love Etsy for unique coastal pieces. There are items for less than $20 and up, so you can find super cute accents for all budgets. Etsy even has a lot of handmade, one-of-a-kind coastal furniture!
